Tumeric Plains

Series One are mixed-media prints, combining original monoprints layered digitally with colour. They explore the use of texture within the confined boundaries of handcut shapes to create abstract landscapes.

The carefully considered shapes give an asymmetric and personal mood to each composition. They are layered with ink to create textural landscapes, that are both familiar and alien at once. Colour adds depth to each piece, while scale and relationship to the negative space is carefully considered. These pieces of work combine both a dark depth and illuminated lightness.

Each print stands alone, but also works strongly as a pair or set to compliment each other. They are stunning at larger sizes with the depth to the texture being able to be fully appreciated, but also work as delicate, ethereal pieces at smaller sizes.

A4 - A1 sizes, printed on 308gsm Hahnemule Photo Rag using archival ink.
